The first annual ThinkTanque International Pétanque Tourney and Music Festival takes place April 25 and 26 at The Bloor Ranch in Manor, Texas. Four hundred (400) players from 7 different countries compete for a $10,000 cash prize in the pétanque tourney (French version of bocce ball). The music stage will be erected at the bottom of a huge hillside, with room for thousands of folks to bring a cooler, spread a blanket, and enjoy live music under the Hill Country sky. #Austin #ATX

The 17th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival brings together Latino and indigenous filmmakers, actors, and screenwriters from all across the Americas and the Iberian Peninsula in Austin, Texas, April 22-27, 2014. This year’s festival honors and life and work of Efraín Gutiérrez, a pioneer of Mexican American cinema in Texas. All films are subtitled in English and are not rated. Festival passes and individual tickets are available. All screenings presented at the Emma S. The Austin Public Library has partnered with the Austin Polish Society to present #free monthly screenings of award-winning Polish films of different genres every month at the Manchaca Branch. Films are unrated and have English subtitles. “Austeria” screens Sunday, April 6, at 3:30 p.m. “Austeria” examines the lives of Polish Jews on the eve of World War I. Texas Hill Country Olive Company presents its 2nd Annual Texas Olive Festival on Saturday, April 5, from Noon to 7 p.m. Learn about olives, oils and products in a Tuscan-styled tasting room. Festival also showcases Texas wines and foods. Local chefs will demonstrate recipes and cooking techniques created just for festival guests, and Texas growers and educators will conduct education seminars about the state’s olive industry.
