The Menuhin Competition, the world’s leading competition for young violinists, takes place for the first time in the United States at the Butler School of Music on The University of Texas at #Austin campus, Feb. 21 to March 2. Two of the competitors currently reside in Texas: 12-year-old Claire Wells of Plano and Hao Miao, a University of North Texas undergraduate. Event includes concerts, master classes, and community activities with world-class musicians. Performances are open to the public and include #free and ticketed events.

Official training for the Austin Crows Australian Rules Football Club starts Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Zilker Park, Bottom Deck (northeast corner near Barton Springs Bridge). Subsequent trainings take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. The Crows encourage all new players, and welcome a number of new players every year. The Australian Rules Football season runs from March to October.
