Austin Floorball Club New Player Tournament May 2013

Join Austin Floorball Club for its semiannual New Players Tournament on Sunday, May 5, 2013, from 4:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex. Floorball is a type of safe floor hockey played with a wiffle ball and a lightweight stick. Equipment provided. Athletic shoes and attire recommended. The tournament is a beginner friendly event ; no experience necessary. Each team will play four short games. For more information or to register, visit www.austinfloorballclub.com. Polish Film May 2013

The Austin Public Library has partnered with the Austin Polish Society to present FREE monthly screenings of award-winning Polish films of different genres every month at the Manchaca Branch. Films are unrated and have English subtitles. “Erratum” screens Sunday, May 5, 2013, at 3:30 p.m.

A few days before his son’s First Communion, Michał (Tomasz Kot) returns to his hometown to run an errand for his boss. He is to pick up an imported car from customs and return home as soon as possible. But then things take on a different turn. Michał has to stay in town for a few days. He has to wait. As he walks through the city streets, he encounters people he used to be close with; he visits familiar places. Something awakens inside him; something he had long forgotten about. He tries to fight for it.

Fiestas Patrias of Austin invites you to its 8th Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta this weekend, May 4-5, 2013, at Fiesta Gardens. The two-day event includes a variety of Tejano and Conjunto bands. An all-day Conjunto Festival takes place on Sunday. Highlighting the event will be performances by Gary Hobbs, Da Krazy Pimpzs, Baraja de Oro, Joel Guzman y Sara Fox, Los Fantasmas del Valle, Yayo Castillo y Grupo Rumores and more.
