Austin Crows | Australian Rules Football Club | 2013 Season Practice Starts March 23

Austin CrowsOfficial training for the Austin Crows Australian Rules Football Club starts Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Zilker Park, Bottom Deck (northeast corner near Barton Springs Bridge). Subsequent trainings take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. The Crows encourage all new players, and welcome a number of new players every year. The Australian Rules Football season runs from March to October.

Australian Rules Football (Footy) has been in Austin for almost a decade. Members are predominantly from the U.S.A, but include a good number of Aussies and other nationalities. The Austin Crows are the Division 3, 2010 USAFL National Champions!

Boomerang’s 7th Annual Australia Day Party Benefiting Meals on Wheels and More – Sat., Jan. 26

Boomerang's Australia Day Party 2013Australia Day festivities begin at 12 p.m. with the famous Boomerang’s Aussie Pie eating contest at 5 p.m. The current record stands at 16.8 seconds for one pie. A silent auction will be held to benefit Meals on Wheels and More, and a meat tray raffle will benefit the Austin Crows, Australian Rules Football Team. Kid’s activities include a bouncy castle and face painting. Aussie pies, beers, and treats available for purchase. Kids 12 and under eat free.

Celebrate Australia Day with the Austin Crows (Australian Rules Football Team) @ Zilker Park and Boomerang’s – Jan. 26

Austin CrowsJoin the Austin Crows on Sat., Jan. 26, 2013, for its annual Australia Day festivities. The day starts with a Cricket Competition at the Zilker Bottom Deck (10 a.m.), and then everyone heads over to Boomerang’s for more activities, including a pie eating contest. All are welcome; no experience necessary.
